Wheel bearings have a dual purspose one is to support the waight of the vehicle and secondly to allow the wheels to rotate smoothly. They have to put up with high amounts of pressure and heat at the same time be secure from the elements. This is why our bearing are made from hardened steel and are secured with OE specification rubber seals ensuring water or any contaminants do not leak in.

CV Joints

CV Joints

Constant-velocity joints allow a drive shaft to transmit power through a variable angle, at constant rotational speed, without an appreciable increase in friction or play. They are mainly used in front wheel drive vehicles, and many modern rear wheel drive cars with independent rear suspension typically use CV joints at the ends of the rear axle halfshafts and increasingly use them on the propshafts (drive shafts).

Made out of steel or aluminium, driveshaft’s on rear wheel drive vehicles are responsible for delivering the power of the engine through the transmission output shaft and the differential in the axle to Constant Velocity joints (CV-joints) and onto the drive wheels. Front wheel drive vehicles use frontal driveshaft’s usually referred to as half shafts.

Mountings

An engine mount, made of rubber (sometimes liquid sealed in a rubber casing) and steel has two purposes, that is, it secures the engine and transmission to the frame of the car in proper alignment and it absorbs the road imperfections and engine vibrations so that the driver does not feel any engine movements.

If one of the mounts breaks, you would feel exactly how rough the engine in your car really is, even when running properly as the vibrations of the engine are now transferred to the frame, thus the interior of the car.
